Rafting in the Verdon Canyon

The Gorges du Verdon are famous throughout the world. But few know the intimate courses of the Haut Verdon in the Val d'Allos.

In spring only, by rafting or kayaking you will discover this sumptuous course through magnificent landscapes.

Embark for a moment of happiness to share with family or friends.

From April to June, in the south of France, in the heart of the Alpes de Haute Provence, the descent of the Verdon Gorges by rafting is a fabulous day trip with family or friends for an adventure with the Aqua'rider team.

We are not in the Grand canyon of the Verdon between the village of Castellane and the Lake of Sainte Croix in Moustier Sainte Marie but on the course of the Haut Verdon between Allos and Saint-André les Alpes. From Cannes or Marseille it takes about 2.5 hours to get there, and the itinerary is easily accessible without crossing the Gorges du Verdon.

For this aquatic hike we prefer rafting to be safe as the guide is by your side. For the more sporty, canoe rafting and kayaking are activities with more sensations depending on the itinerary chosen. Here there is no cancellation by Edf like in Castellane to have water, but it is necessary to book your rafting activity in advance in spring because afterwards the level is too low.

If you come in summer, opt for another water activity such as canyoning. There are numerous discovery courses in the Verdon gorges or in the Riou canyon in Moustier Saint-Marie above the Sainte Croix lake. This is also a good way to have fun.

In May, take a Pont de Soleil in Provence to test the descent of the Verdon in rafting or canoe kayak in a course of the gorges upstream from Castellane. From 6 ps the adventure can begin in complete safety on this sublime descent of the Verdon, navigating on clear water in a natural setting.

After having made your reservation by specifying the number of people on Google, the meeting point is given at the place of arrival of the course where the guides of Aqua' Rider await you. With our minibus and the packraft on the trailer, the first trip begins to the starting point on the river.

This is not the Martel trail of the Gorges du Verdon, but a short 20m hike and the activity begins. We leave on the water and divide the number of people on the rafting or canoeing activities for a minimum of 3 hours or the whole day. If you stay in France, you will start a wonderful white water trip on the Verdon river and through its Gorges.

The many activities available such as canyoning, kayaking and rafting in safety with a guide are popular with many people. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced family member, you can book an itinerary through the Gorges du Verdon. But if the level is low, the duration increases and your packraft reservation may be doomed to cancellation, so all you have to do is go to a lakeside village under the sun of Castellane, cross the bridge and go hiking. In conclusion, aqua trekking and rafting on the Verdon will be among your fondest memories of travel in the south of France.
